Dear Sweet Writer
A love letter to the writer who keeps waiting to feel ready
Dear sweet writer,
I feel moved to tell you how much your words have meant to me.
Every chance I get to read your story, I find a glimmer of myself in your words. It’s like staring into the most beautiful enchanted mirror except I see the truth of me instead of the fear within.
Your message has moved me in ways I didn’t see coming.
I didn’t know I needed the permission you provided. I didn’t know permission was even something I was allowed to want. And now I can’t imagine living without it.
I hope you continue.
I know the amount of bravery it takes to share your words with this world because it has been a cost too great for me to expend.
Until now.
Once I saw you go first and continue despite the fears, the judgments, the worries that could have dragged you down, I felt something shift in me that I don’t have words for yet. Something that had been holding me still for years finally let go.
Hearing your story made me realize that I too have a story that is meant to be told. Not someday. Now. Just as I am. With everything I am still figuring out.
Seeing you in all of your glorious expression made me realize that I don’t have to be perfect to be powerful. In fact I am even more powerful in my imperfection.
To be so rooted in my own existence that it doesn’t matter if it’s right, wrong, or the way it should be, that is true freedom.
You gave that to me.
You modeled it.
You became it which means I can become it too.
The creative rebel.
The fullest expression.
The soft, sweet version that has fallen in love with this beautiful world.
Thank you for sharing your work.
Thank you for sharing your gifts.
Thank you for sharing you.
It was exactly what I needed.
I’m so grateful for you.
With love,
Your Younger Self
